Research:
To provide alternatives to the wasteful practice of flaring natural gas through research that leverages subject matter expertise; yet remains mindful of “the arrogance of specialization.1” Thus, by encouraging industry experts to collaborate with corporate leaders, policy makers, politicians, other key stakeholders and, most importantly, the general public to reduce or eliminate natural gas flares and pursue alternatives to this wasteful practice.
Results:
We will elicit solutions that result in the elimination the economic decision to flare natural gas by the year 2010 and begin monitoring the progress of implementation. Our goal is to eliminate natural gas flares throughout the world by the year 2020. Stop the Flares believes that by working together, we can do better!
